I think it's a universal problem that very few screenwriters know how to write good female characters. It's probably because women are lot more complicated.

I don't think SPN writers know how to write good female characters while male characters are usually quite good, apart from Castiel imho but that's very subjective as I don't like him. :)

I don't think Sam's hand was near Benny's pulse point during the handshake for him to detect the missing beat, but I thought about the skin temperature too. Although I felt it's a bit of a stretch…
