Writers of Supernatural

Needless to say a television show cannot be successful without its writers. Thankfully, Supernatural is blessed to have a small but talented group of men and women who all seem to shared the same vision and passion. The following is a tally of the works they've done so far individually on the show:

They are listed in the order of my most to less favorite (season 1 - 5):

1) Ben Edlund - "Simon Said", "Nightshifter", "Hollywood Babylon", "Bad Day at Black Rock", "Malleus Maleficarum", "Ghostfacers", "Monster Movie", "Wishful Thinking", "On the Head of a Pin", "The End", "Abandon All Hope", "My Bloody Valentine", "The Devil You Know"

2) Eric Kripke - "Pilot", "Wendigo" (teleplay), "Bloody Mary" (story), "Home", "Shadow", "Devil's Trap", "In My Time of Dying", "All Hell Break Loose: Part 2", "The Magnificent Seven", "No Rest for the Wicked", "Lazarus Rising", "Heaven and Hell", "Lucifer Rising", "Sympathy for the Devil", "The Real Ghostbusters" (teleplay), "Swan Song" (teleplay, story by Eric Gewirtz)

3) Sera Gamble - "Dead in the Water", "Faith", "Nightmare", "Salvation", "Bloodlust", "Crossroad Blues", "Houses of the Holy", "Heart", "All Hell Break Loose: Part 1", "The Kids Are Alright", "Fresh Blood", "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (story), "Jus In Bello", "Time Is on My Side", "Are You There, God? It's Me... Dean Winchester", "I Know What You Did Last Summer", "It's a Terrible Life", "When the Levee Breaks", "Good God, Y'all", "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester" (teleplay), "The Song Remains the Same"

4) Raelle Tucker - "Dead in the Water", "Faith", "Nightmare", "Salvation", "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things", "Hunted", "Road Kill", "What Is and What Should Never Be",

5) Jeremy Carver - "Sin City", "A Very Special Christmas", "Mystery Spot" (teleplay & story), "Long-Distance Call", "In The Beginning", "Family Remains", "Death Takes a Holiday", "The Rapture", "Free to be You and Me", "Changing Channels" (teleplay), "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid", "Point of No Return"

5) John Shiban - "Skin", "Hookman", "Scarecrow" (teleplay), "The Benders", "Dead Man's Blood", "Everybody Loves a Clown", "Croatoan", "Tall Tales", "Folsom Prison Blues",

6) Cathryn Humphris - "Dead Man's Blood", "Born Under a Bad Sign", "Bedtime Stories", "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (teleplay & story), "Metamorphosis", "Sex and Violence",

7) Andrew Dabb & Daniel Loflin - "Yellow Fever", "Afterschool Special", "Jump the Shark", "I Believe the Children Are Our Future", "Sam, Interrupted", "Dark Side of the Moon", "Hammer of the Gods" (teleplay, story by David Reed), "Two Minutes to Midnight"

8) Richard Hatem - "Phantom Travelor", "Asylum"

9) Julie Siege - "It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester", "Criss Angel Is a Douche Bag", "The Monster at the End of This Book", "Fallen Idols", "Swap Meat", "99 Problems"

Season 6 saw many of the old writers left to develop their next projects.  In many ways, season 6 is a new beginning, so I'm tracking the writers anew.  This time, I'm listing them in the order they first appear:

1) Sera Gamble - "Exile on Main St", "Appointment in Samarra" (co-wrote with Robert Singer), "Let It Bleed"

2) Adam Glass - "Two and a Half Men", "All Dogs Go to Heaven", "Like a Virgin", "Mommy Dearest"

3) Ben Edlund - "The Third Man", "Clap Your Hands If You Believe", "French Mistake", "The Man Who Would Be King"

4) Andrew Dabb & Daniel Loflin - "Weekend at Bobby's", "Family Matters", "Unforgiven", "Frontierland"

5) Brett Mathews - "Live Free or Twihard", "Caged Heat" (story by Jenny Klein), "And Then There Were None"

6) Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder - "You Can't Handle the Truth" (story also by David Reed), "Mannequin 3: The Reckoning", "My Heart Will Go on"

7) Eric Kripke - "The Man Who Knew Too Much"

Season 7 is underwhelming as far as I'm concerned.  Except for several decent episodes here and there, the rest (story-wise) failed to capture my attention undivided for 45 minutes most of the times.  Is it because more writers are new?  But then again, my favorite episode this season (Time After Time) is written by a new guy (Robbie Thompson)...

1) Sera Gamble - "Meet the New Boss", "Death's Door", "The Born-Again Identity"

2) Ben Edlund - "Hello, Cruel World", "How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters", "Repo Man"

3) Andrew Dabb & Daniel Loflin - "The Girl Next Door", "Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!", "Plucky Pennywhistle's Magic Megagerie"

4) Adam Glass - "Defending Your Life", "Adventure in Babysitting", "Party On, Garth"

5) Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming - "Shut up, Dr. Phil", "The Slice Girls"

6) Robbie Thompson - "Slash Fiction", "Time After Time"

7) Ben Acker & Ben Blacker - "The Mentalist"

8) Jenny Klein & Robert Singer - "Out with the Old"
